KESMARC Graduates

Read the stories of just some of the many horses that have “graduated” from KESMARC and have successfully competed. Our goal is to make your horse’s comeback stronger than their setback and we are so happy to share the stories of the horses that have gone on to do just that!

KESMARC's commitment to the horse:

Rockrimmon arrived to KESMARC needing a soft place to land after retiring from the racetrack. He was checked from top to bottom including his throat and feet. As he progressed in his time here, he was allowed some turnout time, which he loved. Once he was ready to start back to more work, he began swimming and started some work under tack with our rider, Wendy. After a couple months he was ready to start his new life. He was sent to Alexa Ehlers to expand on his education and start learning about his new career. Rocky has shown a real aptitude for jumping and we think that may be where his new life may lead. We are so proud of him for his professional attitude during his first outing and show. KESMARC believes every horse deserves a full life after their first career and we are pleased with his progress and excited for this lovely horse's future!

My Grand Prix horse was diagnosed with a suspensory injury in December after a stumble during a lesson and the prognosis was 12-18 months before he would be back to full work. Upon hearing this news, I started researching equine rehabilitation facilities to give him the best chance at a full recovery. KESMARC was the most specialized and robust program I came across, and after speaking with Kirsten, I felt confident this was the best option for my horse.

As soon as my horse got down to KESMARC, Kirsten and her team had another ultrasound done, reviewed it with a local vet, and began his rehabilitation protocol within the first two days. I received regular updates on his progress and felt confident he was in great hands. His program included the hyperbaric chamber, cold saltwater spa, aquatred, and exercise rides.

My horse responded incredibly well to KESMARC’s program, and within 6 months he was back to full flat work and ready to come home. The vet did a follow-up ultrasound and found that the injury had fully recovered, and he could return to normal work. My trainers have commented that he even looks better now than he did before the injury because of the holistic treatment and rehab program he was in at KESMARC. We are looking forward to getting back into the show ring later this year, and I am so thankful to the team at KESMARC for helping get my horse back and significantly reducing his recovery time.

During his time at KESMARC, I went down to visit several times. Each time I was impressed with how kind the staff was, and it’s clear they truly care about each and every horse in their care. KESMARC is an incredible facility operated by a dedicated and knowledgeable team, I would highly recommend anyone sending their horse here.
