Kesmarc offers a comprehensive set of equine therapy facilities to address the needs of your horse. Each part of our facility plays a specific role in the horse's recovery or fitness training, and each horse has an individual therapy schedule to use any of the equipment which is appropriate for their needs. This individual schedule is developed by the attending veterinarian with the assistance of Kesmarc's professional staff and consultants.

Aquatred
The Aquatred may be the most perfect type of conditioning and rehabilitation for the equine athlete. It enhances and maintains conditioning in a full-body exercise, giving the horse a perfect balance of strength. The 40-60% buoyancy is the key to giving range of motion back to an injured athlete, as well as increasing length of stride of an older athlete, bringing it back to its original state.
The resistance of the water and the lack of concussion enable horses to work themselves fully and with no pain, using the same muscle groups as on land. The Aquatred is not as cardiovascular a workout as swimming, but is perfect for any performance related athlete.
Benefits of the Aquatred:
Decreases track-related injuries during the conditioning of your horse, helps the reconditioning of veteran athletes, or the freshening of animals long in training.
Safe alternative to hand-walking in pose-surgical care, offering less chance of re-injury, better healing, and speedier return to normal activity.
Track sour horses are mentally revitalized by the new activity, while conditioning is maintained and improved.
Lengthens stride while developing the same muscles used in normal ground work and on the race track
Helps bleeders heal while maintaining condition.
Great when combined with swimming for a more complete conditioning program.
When low impact is what is required, this is the perfect exercise.
This exercise facility is the most underutilized piece of equipment in the equine industry!

Equigym
The Equigym provides a safe and natural form of exercise and cool-down after a workout. Moving stalls in a round pen configuration - with the horse not tied down as in the traditional hot walker - gives the horse an enjoyable safe walk without handler intervention. Our Equigym is in a controlled building and environment to keep horses calm and safe.
Movement in the Equigym is stress-free, unrestrained, safe and free at a walk.
Ability to work both directions insures balanced, uniform development of the musculoskeletal system.

Solarium
An important part of our synergistic approach to equine rehabilitation from illness and injury is our solarium. The benefits of sunshine cannot be debated, and providing sunshine to the recovering athlete in a controlled, indoor environment enhances rapid return to training. Like humans, horses are healthier when exposed to regular doses of sunlight. Sun light has been proven to stimulate the immune system and provide vitamin D. Vitamin D aids in proper absorption of calcium and phosphates, which are the building blocks of healthy bone.
When used in conjunction with our other therapeutic activities, the solarium enhances mental and physical wellness in the equine athlete.
Takes the chill away on cold days to help relax muscles and dry the horses more rapidly.
Eases sore back pain.
